Oh come on, you know what these are.....
I have died and gone to sugar heaven.
Do you think he liked them?
Did you notice that there were two different boxes of cupcakes? Ok, so we made the trek to Costa Mesa for the wedding of one of Earl's best friends (see below). Newport Beach is like right next door...and they have a Sprinkles Cupcakes shop. Mini little magnificent shop. So I stand in line while poor Earl sits outside in his wheelchair and swallow saliva as I am patiently waiting to pick out my cupcakes!
I'm thinking, "Which one do I want? How many can I get away with buying? How much are these? I can't see a price anywhere! I don't care, they're supposed to be the BEST! Ohhhhhh, I'm next!"
So I originally got coconut, strawberry, cinnamon sugar, and chocolate marshmellow. So then we ate them, fell in love, and almost adopted a little pit bull puppy they had for adoption in front of the chic Newport Beach puppy treat boutique. Then somehow I talked Earl into letting me get some more. (!) . . . Well he was under the impression that I was getting him another coconut cupcake and one for his buddy.
So I waited in line again.
And waited a little more.
Then it was my turn! Yay!
And I came out of the store with five more cupcakes. FIVE! I don't know what happened!! They asked what I wanted and I just kept naming off all of the cupcakes on the board! "Key lime!" "Red Velvet!" "Chocolate Peanut Butter!" "Oh yeah, and two coconut."
I seriously was going to buy their cupcake mix to make my own at home (which I'm so glad I didn't because I found the recipe on my own online and made some last night from scratch....SO BOMB, by the way. Does anyone say 'bomb' anymore? Anyways.....) and Earl told me I could get a tee shirt (SO sweet!), but I didn't want to spend $22 on a tee shirt when I could be spending that money on actual cupcakes! I spend $29 on 9 cupcakes. Kinda crazy, but you only live once, right?
So we were there for this little lady's wedding.....with her little girl Bella....
She married Mark, one of Earl's friends from way back in the day. I love to take photos, so they were my first wedding!! Here are a few of my favorites....
LOVE them! Congrats Mark and Olga! And they have a little one on the way! SO excited for that! Olga is an AMAZING mother and if this little one is going to be anything like little Bella, the world will be a better place. She is the sweetest little girl.
Since Earl has been bedridden, I have had a craftiness EXPLOSION! I even rearranged the loft to have it better suit my crafting needs.
This is the view walking into my little loft....my antique singer sewing machine base that I got at Goodwill. It used to be a nasty camo/pea green. It has all my rectangles for my new QUILT that I'm making. AH! Excited!
a lovely little ribbonfull of some of me favorite things. Pictures from New York, the peach orchards, Shell Beach, Maui, Oahu....sketches from my first 2 big cake jobs!
our charactercher from Times Square....an antique camera....HOT TAMALES!
...and my new favorite lamp! We got this lamp as a wedding present over 5 years ago and never had a nice lampshade on it. I never found one that I liked, so I decided to keep the one on it that I found in the garage at our first house. Good idea, right? NO! Since that was 3 houses ago...the lampshade has gotten a little beat-up. Actually, the fabric part ripped off of the metal frame. So I got a feather boa, pulled out my glue gun and away I went. Now I LOVE it!
And that's it. That's all I got. I wanna go sew some more!! (It's 11:12 and I should be getting ready for bed...but I'm going upstairs....)
